Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil or butter over medium heat. Allow the oil to warm until shimmering or the butter to melt and foam, which typically takes about 1 minute.
- Add 3 minced garlic cloves to the hot oil or melted butter. Sauté for about 30 seconds until the garlic becomes fragrant and just begins to turn golden.
- Add 1 pound of large shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.
- Once the shrimp are cooked, remove them from the skillet and place them on a plate. Cover them with foil to keep them warm.
- In the same skillet, pour in 1 cup of heavy cream. Reduce the heat to low and bring the cream to a gentle simmer, stirring consistently for about 2-3 minutes.
- Add ½ cup of grated Parmesan cheese to the simmering cream, along with salt and pepper to taste. Stir continuously until the cheese melts completely.
- Return the sautéed shrimp to the skillet, tossing them gently to coat in the creamy garlic sauce. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes on low heat.
- Once completed, remove the skillet from heat. Serve your Creamy Garlic Shrimp immediately over a bed of rice, pasta, or with crusty bread.

Notes
Fresh shrimp yields better flavor and texture; avoid overcrowding while cooking.
