For the Kefta Mixture
  • 1 pound Ground Beef Can substitute with ground lamb
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Herbs (parsley, cilantro) Chopped finely
  • 1 medium Onion Grated, can substitute with shallots
  • 1 tablespoon Dried Mint Optional
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced, fresh is best
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Harissa Adjust for heat level
  • to taste Salt & Pepper For seasoning
For Cooking
  • 8 Skewers Soak wooden skewers for 25 minutes

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped fresh herbs, grated onion, minced garlic, and spices. Mix until evenly incorporated.
  2. Cover the Kefta mixture and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes for an enhanced flavor.
  3. Shape the meat mixture around skewers, pressing gently to hold together.
  4. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and oil the grates well.
  5. Grill the kabobs for 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  6. If cooking in the oven, preheat to 450°F and bake for 10-12 minutes, turning halfway.
