For the Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce Opt for tamari or coconut aminos for gluten-free.
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar Honey or maple syrup can be great substitutes.
  • 2 tablespoons Rice Vinegar Apple cider vinegar is a good alternative.
For the Aromatics
  • 3 cloves Garlic Add after browning the beef.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger Add at the right moment to prevent burning.
For Serving
  • 4 cups Rice Use white, brown, or cauliflower rice.
  • Vegetables (optional) Add shredded carrots, snap peas, or zucchini.

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef without overcrowding. Sear until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Spoon out excess grease, lower heat to medium, and add minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, and rice vinegar, simmer on low for 3-5 minutes until sauce thickens.
  4. Prepare the rice according to package instructions. Allow to rest before fluffing.
  5. Spoon beef mixture over rice in bowls and garnish with optional vegetables or sesame seeds.
