- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a medium skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the onion and optional minced garlic for 5–7 minutes until the beef is cooked through and the onions are translucent. Drain excess fat.

- Grease a 9-inch pie dish and spread the cooked beef mixture evenly across the bottom.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese generously over the beef layer.
