- Start by cutting the block of paneer into thick slices. Generously sprinkle salt and red chili powder on all sides and marinate for 10-15 minutes.
- Heat a pan over medium heat and add oil. Once hot, toss in cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add finely chopped onions and sauté for 7-10 minutes until golden brown.
- Introduce ginger-garlic paste to the pan and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in the pureed tomatoes and stir well. Add turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala, and additional red chili powder. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Gradually add water to adjust the gravy's consistency, then add marinated paneer. Cover and simmer on low heat for 10-15 minutes.
- Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro and serve hot with naan, basmati rice, or parathas.
