For the Pasta
  • 8-10 oz Pasta Penne or fettuccine recommended
  • 2 cups Broccoli Florets Can swap with spinach or mushrooms
For the Sauce

  • 5-6 Garlic Minced; can substitute with garlic powder
  • 2 oz Cream Cheese Can use Greek yogurt as an alternative
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese Nutritional yeast can work for a dairy-free option
  • 1 cup Milk Use non-dairy milk for lactose-free
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth Vegetable broth for vegetarian version
  • 3 tbsp All-Purpose Flour Cornstarch as a gluten-free alternative
  • Seasonings Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder, Paprika, Italian Seasoning to taste
For the Chicken
  • Chicken Breasts Can substitute with cooked chicken for quicker prep

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta for 8-10 minutes. Add broccoli in the last minute, drain both.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet. Season chicken with salt and pepper, cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  3. Sauté onion and garlic in the skillet for 2-3 minutes until onion is translucent.
  4. Sprinkle flour into the skillet, combine with onion and garlic, and cook for 1 minute to eliminate raw flour taste.
  5. Slowly add milk and chicken broth, stir continuously, cook for about 3-5 minutes until thickened.
  6. Add cream cheese and Parmesan, stir until melted and sauce is smooth.
  7. Return cooked pasta, broccoli, and sliced chicken to skillet, toss in the sauce for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Serve immediately, optionally garnish with extra Parmesan and herbs.
