Preparation

  3. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.
  4. Fold in grated yellow squash using a spatula.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 40-50 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool in the pan for 30 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  7. For the optional glaze, mix powdered sugar, lemon juice, and milk until smooth. Drizzle over cooled bread before serving.
