  • 4 cups cauliflower florets
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
For the Sausage
  • 12 ounces sliced smoked sausage
For the Cheese Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Sauté sliced smoked sausage in a skillet over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes until browned. Remove from skillet.
  3. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in the same skillet. Add diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Add 8 ounces of cream cheese, melting and mixing well.
  5. Pour in 1 cup of heavy whipping cream, simmering for 4-5 minutes until thickened.
  6. Fold in 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese, mixing until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. In a bowl, combine steamed cauliflower, broccoli, and sautéed sausage. Pour cheese sauce over and mix gently.
  8. Transfer mixture to a 9x9 baking dish and bake for 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
