For the Burger Patties
  • 1 pound Ground Beef or ground chicken for a lighter option
  • 1 teaspoon Salt adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder or fresh garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder or fresh onions
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger ground ginger if fresh is not available
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce use low-sodium for a healthier option
  • 1 cup Pineapple Juice fresh is great too
For the Toppings
  • 4 slices Pineapple Slices grilled
  • 1 medium Onion Slices red or yellow
  • 4 slices Cheese optional, use favorite melting cheese
  • 4 pieces Burger Buns whole grain or gluten-free options available
  • 4 tablespoons Mayo for spreading

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, ginger, soy sauce, and pineapple juice. Mix gently and shape into thick patties with a slight indentation.
  2. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 400°F (200°C). Prepare pineapple and onion slices for grilling.
  3. Grill pineapple and onion slices for about 3 minutes until caramelized.
  4. Increase grill heat to high, cook the burger patties for 3 minutes per side, adding cheese during the last minute.
  5. Remove patties and cover loosely with foil for 5 minutes to rest.
  6. Assemble the burgers with mayo on buns, adding burger patties, grilled onions, and pineapple slices.
