For the Sauce
  • 0.25 cup Soy Sauce Regular soy sauce preferred.
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar Can substitute with white sugar or maple syrup.
  • 2 tablespoons Water
For Cooking
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil Or sesame oil for enhanced flavor.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced or pre-minced.
For Garnish
  • 2 stalks Green Onions Sauté the white parts, reserve green for garnish.
  • to taste Red Chili Flakes Adjust according to spice tolerance.
  • to taste Sesame Seeds For added crunch.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil over high heat. Add the instant ramen noodles and cook according to the package instructions for about 3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together ¼ cup of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons of water until dissolved. Set aside.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and white parts of green onions. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour the soy sauce mixture into the pan and stir well. Allow it to simmer for about 2 minutes.
  5. Add the drained ramen noodles to the pan and toss gently to coat them in the sauce. Simmer for another 2 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and transfer ramen to a bowl. Garnish with green onion tops, red chili flakes, and sesame seeds before serving.
