Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Thaw the puff pastry according to package directions while preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Dust a workspace with flour.
  2. Melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a medium skillet. Add diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt; sauté for 5–7 minutes.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry to about 1/8-inch thickness and cut into 4-inch squares.
  4. Place about 1 tablespoon of apple filling in the center of each pastry square and fold to form a triangle. Crimp edges with a fork.
  5. Whisk together egg and water for the egg wash. Brush over tops of sealed turnovers.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Combine powdered sugar and heavy whipping cream in a bowl to prepare glaze. Drizzle over warm turnovers before serving.
