Step-by-Step Instructions for Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken Pasta
  1. Pat the chicken dry, cut into pieces, and season with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Dice the onion and mince the garlic.
  3. Boil water, add salt, and cook pasta until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining, then let the pasta sit.
  5. Heat olive oil and sear chicken for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  6. In the same skillet, melt butter and olive oil, then sauté onion until translucent.
  7. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, cook for 1-2 minutes.
  8. Pour chicken broth into the skillet, scrape the bottom, and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  9. Pour in heavy cream, stir and simmer for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  10. Mix in Parmesan and Pecorino Romano cheeses until melted.
  11. Adjust seasoning of the sauce with salt and pepper as needed.
  12. Combine chicken and pasta in the skillet, tossing to coat.
  13. If too thick, add reserved pasta water to achieve desired consistency.
  14. Add parsley and optional add-ins, cook for 1-2 minutes.
