Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine lean ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, salt, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix gently to form six patties.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side.
  3. Transfer the patties to an oven-proof plate and keep warm in a preheated oven at 300°F.
  4. In the same skillet, add butter and whisk in flour, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook for 7 minutes.
  5. Gradually whisk in milk and let the gravy simmer until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Return the warm patties to the skillet and spoon gravy over them. Warm for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Serve Hamburger Steak with Country Gravy over mashed potatoes or noodles, drizzling extra gravy on top.
