Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Fit the 9-inch refrigerated pie crust into a pie pan and par-bake for 8 minutes.
- Cook the turkey bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy and golden for 8-10 minutes.
- Sauté thinly sliced onion in the same skillet with the bacon drippings for approximately 7 minutes until soft and golden brown.
- Layer half of your sliced tomatoes on the bottom of the crust, followed by onions and crumbled turkey bacon, then top with remaining tomato slices.
- In a mixing bowl, combine shredded cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, mayonnaise, basil, salt, and pepper.
- Spread cheese mixture over layered ingredients in the pie crust and bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Allow the dish to cool for a few minutes before slicing.
