Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large soup pot or Dutch oven, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add 1 diced onion and sauté for 4-5 minutes until translucent.
  2. Stir in 2 minced garlic cloves and cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Pour in 4 cups of chicken broth, 1 cup of heavy cream, and 1 can of condensed cream of mushroom soup. Stir and bring to a gentle boil for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Add 8 ounces of uncooked extra wide egg noodles. Stir, reduce heat to medium-low and cook uncovered for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. After noodles are tender, lower heat to a gentle simmer for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until sauce thickens.
  6. Stir in 2 cups of cooked, shredded chicken and heat through for about 2-3 minutes. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  7. Remove pot from heat and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm.
