Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with melted butter.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring regularly until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent.
- Arrange half of the thinly sliced potatoes at the bottom of the greased baking dish, overlapping them slightly.
- Spread half of the cooked ground beef mixture over the layer of potatoes in the baking dish.
- Next, repeat the layering process by adding the remaining potato slices on top of the beef mixture, followed by the rest of the ground beef.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth. Pour this soup combination evenly over the assembled layers.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of your casserole.
- Place your assembled casserole in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 30-35 minutes.
- Once baked, take the casserole out of the oven and allow it to rest for about 5-10 minutes before serving.
