  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring regularly until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent.
  3. Arrange half of the thinly sliced potatoes at the bottom of the greased baking dish, overlapping them slightly.
  4. Spread half of the cooked ground beef mixture over the layer of potatoes in the baking dish.
  5. Next, repeat the layering process by adding the remaining potato slices on top of the beef mixture, followed by the rest of the ground beef.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth. Pour this soup combination evenly over the assembled layers.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of your casserole.
