Step-by-Step Instructions for Easy Doritos Taco Salad
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown your choice of ground beef, turkey, or a vegetarian alternative for about 7–10 minutes.
  2. Stir frequently and break up the meat to ensure even cooking. Once it’s no longer pink and nicely browned, mix in your taco seasoning and allow everything to cook for an additional 2–3 minutes.
  3. While your protein cools, chop 4 cups of fresh lettuce, dice 2 tomatoes, and slice 1/2 of a red onion.
  4. In the same large mixing bowl with your chopped veggies, add the cooked protein once it's cooled slightly.
  5. Gently toss together until everything is well combined. Add any extra toppings like shredded cheese or a dollop of sour cream.
  6. Lightly crush a generous handful of Doritos and add them right before serving.
