For the Crust
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour Using whole wheat flour elevates health
  • 1 cup Whole milk A plant-based milk works well as a substitute
  • 3 units Eggs Acts as a binding agent
  • ½ cup Soybean oil Melted butter is also an option
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder Ensures the crust rises

Method
 

Filling Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of soybean oil over medium heat.
  2. Add 1 medium chopped onion and 3 minced garlic cloves, sautéing for about 3 minutes until they become translucent.
  3. Incorporate 500 g of ground beef, cooking for about 8 minutes until browned.
  4. Add 2 deseeded, chopped tomatoes along with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of black pepper.
  5. Cook for another 5 minutes until tomatoes soften. Stir in 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley.
Assembling the Pie
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a blender, combine 3 eggs, 1 cup of whole milk, ½ cup of soybean oil, and 1 teaspoon of salt; blend until combined.
  3. Sift together 2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 tablespoon of baking powder.
  4. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
  5. Pour half of the pie crust mixture into the dish, spread the ground beef filling, and top with the remaining crust mixture.
  6. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the top is golden brown.
  7. Let the pie cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
