Preparation Steps
  1. Thaw one sheet of puff pastry according to package instructions, preheat oven to 400°F (200°C), and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Stir in a drop of red food coloring and half of the diced strawberries.
  3. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface and cut out heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
  4. Place heart-shaped pastries on the baking sheet, spoon cream cheese mixture onto each, and top with reserved strawberries.
  5. Whisk together egg and cold water for egg wash, then brush the edges of each pastry with the mixture.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until golden-brown.
  7. Cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving.
