  • 1 cup Cream Plant-based cream can be used.
  • 1/2 cup Cheese (optional) Fresh Parmesan, Monterey Jack, or cheddar.
For the Vegetables
  • 1 cup Bell Peppers Any variety works.
For Extra Heat (optional)
  • 1 tsp Red Pepper Flakes or Jalapeños Adjust to heat preference.

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prep Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add penne and cook for 10-12 minutes until al dente. Drain, reserving 1 cup of pasta water.
  2. Cook Protein: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté chicken or shrimp for 5-7 minutes until cooked to 165°F.
  3. Make Sauce: In the same skillet, add Cajun seasoning and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add cream and simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  4. Combine: Return pasta and protein to skillet, tossing for 2 minutes until well-coated. Add bell peppers before serving.
  5. Finish: Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Use reserved pasta water to thin the sauce if needed.
