Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prep the steaks by patting them dry with paper towels, then season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, egg, and optional hot sauce.
  3. Dip each steak first in the buttermilk mixture, then in the flour mixture, pressing gently to coat.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F. Spray basket with olive oil, arrange steaks in a single layer, spray tops lightly, and air fry for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. Carefully remove from the air fryer and serve immediately with white pepper gravy or your favorite sides.
