Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by grating 2 cups of fresh cheddar cheese finely.
  2. Cut ½ cup of cold unsalted butter into small cubes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the grated cheese, sourdough discard, and cubed butter.
  4. Gradually mix in 1 cup of flour, along with garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
  5. Lightly flour your work surface and roll the dough to a thickness of about ⅛ inch.
  6. Using cookie cutters or a knife, cut the rolled-out dough into desired shapes.
  7. Sprinkle the cut crackers generously with flaky salt.
  8. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 20 minutes.
  9. Let the crackers cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
