Ingredients
  

For the Dough
  • 1 cup Warm Water about 110°F
  • 2 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast use fresh
  • 1 tablespoon Honey can substitute with sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil or melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Salt controls yeast fermentation
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder or fresh garlic
  • 3 cups Bread Flour or all-purpose flour
For the Garlic Butter Topping
  • ½ cup Salted Butter or unsalted with added salt
  • 4 cloves Fresh Garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Italian Seasoning
  • Crushed Red Pepper Flakes optional
  • ¼ cup Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese or any hard cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley chopped

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Combine warm water, active dry yeast, and honey in a bowl and let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Stir in olive oil, salt, and garlic powder; gradually add bread flour until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place kneaded dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area for about 2 hours.
  5. Melt butter in a saucepan; add minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and optional red pepper flakes, then remove from heat.
  6. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  7. Punch down the dough, divide into 16 pieces, roll into 8-inch ropes, and tie each into a knot.
  8. Cover knots with a towel and let rise for another 30-45 minutes until puffy.
  9. Brush knots with garlic butter and bake for 20-23 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Brush with remaining garlic butter and sprinkle with cheese and parsley before serving.
